Hi Leah,

A missed period for 12 consecutive months indicate full Menopause. As you are only 42, I suspect that you are still in Peri-Menopause.

A thickened uterine lining can be influenced by prolonged exposure to estrogen. This may occur naturally or be associated with HRT, contraceptives, or exposure to our Environmental estrogen mimics that we are all dealing with daily. The correct use of natural progesterone will help support the shedding of the uterine lining. Before considering any invasive procedures, it is worth progesterone therapy.

Fibroids are thought to be influenced by several factors, including hormones, Inflammation, and oxidative stress. Addressing inflammation may therefore be beneficial. One of the best ways to support this is by improving gut health. I encourage you to include fermented foods in your diet, particularly kefir milk and sauerkraut. In my opinion, fermented foods are far more beneficial than many OTC probiotics available today. If the gut is not healthy, neither will you be.

I'm not sure whether you are hoping to conceive again. You mentioned in another post that you have 7 children. If you are considering another pregnancy, I recommend reading the Pregnancy page.

The correct use of natural progesterone will help support a more regular monthly cycle, provided you have not yet reached menopause.

Do you know what your Vitamin D3 level is? This is extremely important. A deficiency may reduce the benefits of progesterone. Vitamin D plays a vital role in the function of virtually every cell in the body and is important for overall health, including reproductive health and pregnancy.

Take care.

Hi Leah,

Thank you for explaining your situation.

I suggest using progesterone cream every day. A daily amount of 100–200mg is generally recommended. Continue applying the cream by using half the amount in the morning and the other half at night.

If you have not yet reached menopause, your menstrual cycle should eventually return. However, if you are in perimenopause, irregular cycles are very common and can be expected. Progesterone therapy is not an overnight fix. Time and patience is needed.

Please read the How to Use Progesterone Cream page for further guidance.

It's also important to ensure that your Vitamin D3 level is optimal, as explained on the website. Also take not of what is required on the Fibroids page.

Wishing you all the best.

Hi Leah,

Wow, that didn't take long for the spotting to start. Please don't be concerned, as it can take 2–6 months for your body to adjust to progesterone therapy.

In the meantime, please continue using Natpro as I suggested. If your monthly cycle returns to normal and becomes regular again, you can then use progesterone during your luteal phase. Please refer to the chart on the How to Use page, which shows the appropriate day of your cycle to begin using progesterone.

Also bear in mind that you are in peri-menopause, during which menstrual cycles often become irregular. Spotting and changes in cycle length are common during this stage as hormone levels fluctuate.

Take care.
