I just received some cream and I am wondering how much i should use.
I am a 44yr old female. I have had hot flashes etc. for the last couple years. I have been using menosense and I feel much better...no hot flashes. I still at times get mild high estrogen symptoms. My periods are 2, 3, 4, months apart. I just had a period about 3 weeks ago...3 days...very light.

I am not sure how much to use, should I use it without a break or with a break?

Should I continue to use menosense as well?

Thanks,
Marilyn

Hi Marilyn The main ingredients in the menosense, the Dong Quai, Chasteberry and Black Cohosh are oestrogenic. They can help as being phytoestrogens, and not a very high amount, they stimulate progesterone. But they're are not something I would advise for a long time. It's impossible for me to tell you how much progesterone you'll need, it is trial and error. I normally recommend 100-200mg/day, more if symptoms are severe. For instance I've found 400mg/day or more is needed to stop Hot Flushes. Once they've gone the amount can be reduced very slowly till the optimum is found. You are now in Peri-menopause when cycles do become so erratic they're impossible to follow. So I suggest using the progesterone daily. It can upset the cycle, so you could have a period shortly after starting it, ignore it and continue using the progesterone. But please read the page on Oestrogen Dominance before starting it. Take care Wray
