Melasma and Progesterone Success

by Geraldine

Hi

My sister has very pronounced melasma across her forehead. She needs to wear make up to cover it up.

I have been reading up on many of the posts here to do with melasma. I am reading a lot of negative experiences and a lot of people say their melasma has worsened after using Progesterone.

Has anyone had any positive outcomes using progesterone cream to treat their melasma?

From what I am understanding by the replies, it takes time as melasma is very hard to treat, and if it does become worse after use it means you need to increase the dosage, but we would love to hear if anyone has a positive result from it, as I haven't found any yet on here. Granted there are a lot pf pages here to sift through and I've probably just scratched the surface.

Can anyone tell me how long can it took to clear up? Is it possible that for some women progesterone just doesn't work in treating their melasma or does it have to do with using the correct dosage ?

Thanks very much.
