Inital Amount and DMSO

by Joe
(LA)

I have "Moobs", 58 years old, lower libido, but in good shape otherwise as I workout 2x/week. I suffered a couple auto accidents within the past years with TBI. After reading the info you supply, I am inclined to use 1200mg on the skin to "boost" from the TBI I suffered (also read it helps prevention of strokes) and to overcome the inherit estrogen dominance most surely experiencing. But I wonder how long to do this until back to "maintenance" of 20-100mg. If there are no reactions initially I think a week or two would suffice. Your thoughts?

Also, I use DMSO with supplements, etc. for better absorption on the skin. I'm thinking using it in conjunction with Napro for better more efficient absorption. Your thoughts?

Inital Amount and DMSO

Hi Joe

TBI does require a large amount of progesterone. I do feel that you need to use that amount for longer than two weeks though. I suggest a month and see how you feel. If you feel stable, then slowly reduce the amount to a level that suits you. Usually men need 20-100mg as you know, but you may need to use more as a maintenance amount because of your symptoms. Please read the Low Libido and Progesterone for Men pages if you have not done so already.

DMSO is used to increase the body's adsorption of other medications so I see no reason why you shouldn't use it. It also helps with inflammation.

Vitamin D3 also helps with thyroid issues. Vitamin D3 is very important, a deficiency reduces the benefits of progesterone. Nothing less than 5,000iu's per day is needed. Optimal range is between 70-100ng/ml. Magnesium and vitamin K2 with no soy are important co-factors needed when taking vitamin D3.

D3-MK-7

Thank you for your reply. Here in SoCal I get a lot of sun, you'd still recommend supplementing D3? I take the MK-7 form of K2 as I heard this is the better form.

D3-MK-7

Hi Joe

To get enough D3 from the sun one has to be in the sun every single day with virtually no clothing and no sunscreen. This is impossible really so supplementing is very important. MK-7 contains no soy so it is a better form. Soy adds to estrogen dominance symptoms.
