Husband with TBI & Son testing for MS

by Melissa
(USA)

I have much more to read and learn and research but can you guide me on the benefits of Progesterone for TBI & MS. My husband suffered a TBI and my son is currently getting tested for MS. I would like to start them both on progesterone but not sure how much to give either. I am the mother of 7 children 4 of which are girls and I'm thinking they'd also benefit...if they are anything like me. I find it very helpful. please guide me.

Husband with TBI & Son testing for MS

Hi Melissa Progesterone can help both conditions, although with the Traumatic Brain Injury it does need to be applied in the first few hours to days after the injury. I have no idea if it could help weeks to months after the injury, but as it's a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory it's certainly worth trying. There are a number of other antioxidants which should also be taken, most of the good ones are amino acids, plus IV vitamin C. We don't have a page on MS, but I have a number of studies you could read through, all of which point to the benefits of progesterone, see here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here here. Vitamin D is another essential nutrient, if not the most important. Studies have found that the highest incidence of MS is found in countries with the lowest levels of sunshine, see here, here, here, here, here, here, here and here. Please check your sons's vitamin D levels, your husbands too, and get their levels up high. Interestingly Progesterone and Vitamin D work synergistically. I suggest starting both men on 100mg/day, I know this is high compared to most recommendations, but I've found over the years that it's pointless starting off too low. Please get them to read the Oestrogen Dominance page as this can happen to men too. I'm not sure if you've seen our page on How to use Progesterone Cream but it does explain the benefits of progesterone to both young and old people, men and women too. It might be worth your son considering eating a high fat ketogenic diet, see here, here, here, here, here and here. Take care Wray

Hi Melissa I do hope the suggestions help. Please don't forget all natural things usually take time to work, plus there is often a bit of a bumpy ride in the beginning. Let us know how you get on. Take care Wray
