How does magnesium and d3 increase the benefits of progesterone

by Ann
(London)

Hi

I hope someone can help. I have read that taking magnesium and d3 increases the benefits of progesterone but I can’t find any information on that and on how supplementing/increasing magnesium and d3 increases the benefits of progesterone use? Many thanks in advance for any help/information on that :)

How does magnesium and d3 increase the benefits of progesterone
by: Joy

Hi Ann

A vitamin D3 deficiency does reduce the benefits of progesterone see here. Research published in late 2009, found a lack of vitamin D3 reduces the benefits of progesterone. For more information please read this page.

Magnesium and vitamin K2 are important co-factors for D3.

Started Progesterone Cream, Now Heart Arrhythmia
by: Heidi

I just turned 50 and am still having regular periods. I take an herbal compound twice a day that has served me really well so far but I recently started to have night sweats. I started to take progesterone cream from the same herbal line for the past two cycles, 20mg/once per day as I am usually extremely sensitive to anything new and have to ramp up slowly..

The past two weeks (which were pre-period week and period week) I've been having heart palpitations-especially at night, general anxiety and feeling impending doom! :) From what I have read, I have estrogen dominance and need to up my dosage.

Until I receive your progesterone cream, should I begin on day 14 of my cycle (it's 28 days) upping my dosage or begin an everyday protocol with the cream I have now?
