Can Progesterone Cream Help with Hair Loss

I have been looking for a solution for hair loss for over 10 years. I have an iron problem (which contributes to hair loss and lack of regrowth) also. Will progesterone cream minimize my period to help with the iron problem (less blood loss)?

I am 48 and still have regular periods.

Hi there You are now in Peri-menopause when blood loss can be greater. Cycles also become very erratic. Progesterone can help with the blood flow, but cannot regulate cycles once in peri-M. Depending on how severe the blood loss is, I've found 400mg/day is needed, sometimes more. We do have further info on our Menstruation page. Which gives a list of nutrients which can help too. Hair Loss is complicated, but judging by your age, it's probably caused by excess androgens. In which case progesterone could help. There are other nutrients which can help, all listed on the page I've given you. Take care Wray
