Can I wean off progesterone cream and maintain my progesterone levels naturally?

by Isabelle

Hi-I’m wondering if the cream can help the body increase pg levels naturally or does it just mask the problem? In other words, doesn’t the cream just act as a band aid if your body is producing low levels of progesterone?

If I wean off the cream will my levels drop again? Is there a reliable way to keep my progesterone levels high NATURALLY (during the literal phase) without the cream?

Also if I start using the cream and then stop the cream, will my body stop producing progesterone on its own? This is what I’m afraid of. I don’t want my body to become dependent on the cream to produce and make enough progesterone.

I’m still ovulating every month and plan to start TTC later this year.

Thank you,
Isabelle

Hi Isabelle

Progesterone therapy is a lifelong commitment. The moment you stop using it ALL adverse symptoms return. Missing one application of progesterone will cause levels to drop. Other than supplementing and as far as I am aware, there is no other method that will affect progesterone levels naturally. Please read the How to use Progesterone Cream and Estrogen Dominance.

Progesterone is very much needed if you are TTC. If levels are low you will battle. If you do manage to conceive with low progesterone levels it could cause a miscarriage. Stress can also cause miscarriages. The

If you do decide to use progesterone please make sure that your Vitamin D3 level is optimal as a deficiency reduces the benefits of progesterone, it is also vital for the pregnant mother and unborn child.
