After 5wks taking progesterone supp. ND said okay to stop taking it. After 8wk ultrasound showed fetal pole, sac, and HB. 3 days after had a miscarriage.
I am so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Sadly I feel that the incorrect advice was given. Progesterone should be continued for the first 4 months of pregnancy. Please read this page:
Also when one wants to stop using progesterone is must not be suddenly stopped, you have to wean off it slowly, whether pregnant or not.
There are other factors that could have caused your miscarriage, stress and low progesterone levels are two of them.

Hi Cheryl
No that is not altogether correct. It is vital that progesterone is used for the first 2-4 months of pregnancy, the first 2 months are vital. Thereafter one can wean off very slowly. However, many prefer to stay on it especially if pre-eclampsia is a possibility.
