Progesterone Cream and Contraceptive Pills

by Em

I'm very interested in using the Progesterone cream as I have a few of the symptoms. I'm 18 years old and on a contraceptive pill called Levlen.

I would like to know how to use the cream in conjunction with my pill. I was concerned about whether or not the pill is compatible with the cream. I have had some horrible side effects from other contraceptive pills so my body seems to be quite sensitive.

Can you help me please?

Progesterone Cream and Contraceptive Pills

Hi Em I would hazard a guess your symptoms are due to the pill you're taking. All OC's stop ovarian function, which means you are not making any ovarian hormones, including progesterone. Please see our web page Contraceptives Research papers. I don't believe they are worth the risk, it's far safer to have a copper T IUD if you need it for contraception. But to answer your question, yes you can use the progesterone with the pill. You should use it in the second half of your cycle. Please see our web page on How to use progesterone cream for more info. But before you do start using it, please read our page on Oestrogen Dominance. Take care Wray
