Progesterone and endometriosis

by Mona Suri
(Oman )

I'm a 33 year old female and a known case of PCOS. I've been married for 8 years.

I had positive bcgh 153 on 3/12/2009 with medication. Then I aborted. One week back I checked bhcg and it was 21 then I repeated it and it was 53. But I have low progesterone - 10.2 So I took medoxyprogesterone 150mg/1ml im. I checked it the next day and it was 11.3. Still low with bhcg 137.4.

I bought vaginal progesterone and oral progesterone. I'm afraid to lose my baby... please tell me the best and safest way to take progesterone in my early pregnancy?

Hi Mona. Well I'm relieved you got the vaginal progesterone. Medoxyprogesterone is not progesterone! It's a synthetic progestin, and will not benefit you or your baby at all. You might like to read what contraceptives do to us, please see here. Oral progesterone is mostly destroyed by the gut and liver, please see here. And here. We do have a web page on pregnancy, please see here. Take care, Wray
