Progesterone After Confirming Pregnancy

by Alicia
(Florida)

Hi,

I have experienced a miscarriage and after doing some research, based off the symptoms I had, I have reason to believe my levels of vitamin D and lack of progesterone was to blame. I am desperate, scared, pregnant again and afraid I may miscarry. Will you please help me and let me know if I can start using the cream after confirming pregnancy or if it is too late? If I can start using the cream now, will you please let me know how I should go about using it?

Thank you! Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Have you seen a doctor?
by: Anonymous

Hi Alicia,
I'm not a doctor, but from the little I know, miscarriages can be due to a number of things. Have you seen a doctor yet? I miscarried several times in my life and it wasn't until I was in my 30s, and ended up in the hospital, that I found out that I am Rh- blood and my body had been rejecting the pregnancies. I was told that if I became pregnant in the future, that I needed a Rhogam shot right away. Is the Rh- blood a possibility for you? Have your thyroid levels been checked? I know that thyroid issues can sometimes cause issues with pregnancy as well as I was diagnosed with Hashimotos's. Also, do you know if you carry the MTHFR genetic mutation? There are some doctors who test for that and believe that the mutation is related to miscarriage. Of course, some also say there is no connection. There doesn't seem to be a consensus on that one.
Of course, hormonal imbalance can also cause miscarriage. Your levels can be checked with a blood test.

Maybe it would be best to see a doctor first to find out exactly what you are or might be dealing with so that you take the correct steps to address any potential issues.

I wish you the very best and a healthy happy stress free pregnancy!

Progesterone After Confirming Pregnancy
by: Joy

Hi Alicia

I am so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. While low progesterone levels can be a cause for Miscarriages there could be other reasons for them such as Stress. I suggest that you use 100mg progesterone, Natpro is a good organic cream to use. Split that amount and use half in the morning and the other half at night.

The How to use Progesterone Cream and Pregnancy pages will help you to understand more. You may experience some Estrogen Dominance symptoms when first using progesterone, these symptoms will soon pass if progesterone is used correctly.

Vitmain D3 is very important as a deficiency reduces the benefits of progesterone. Optimal range is between 70-100ng/mL and nothing less than 5'000iu's per day is needed.
