No period for 90 days-gluten & soy intolerant

by Linda
(San Diego)

I am 20 years old and have had irregular periods since puberty. I have 6-8 periods a year. I am worried about going too long without a period, so I am thinking about trying a natural progesterone creme to help me start and regulate my menstrual cycle.

Currently, I haven't had a period for almost 90 days. I am definitely not pregnant. I have never used any kind of hormone, but my doctor wants me to use Provera to get started. I am afraid of using synthetic hormones, so I am asking a few questions here. I am also gluten and soy intolerant, so I want to be sure your product will not cause me any problems. I also have Hashimoto's Disease, but am not taking any thyroid medication because I only have mild hypothyroidism and a TSH that is about 4.5 Is your product safe for me to use?

No period for 90 days-gluten & soy intolerant

Hi Linda Yes the cream is safe, there is no gluten or soy in the product. I'm very relieved you do not want to try the Provera, if you need more convincing, please see this web page on Contraceptives. Has anyone checked for polycystic ovaries? This is an increasing problem in young women now, please see our PCOS web page. And please have a vitamin D test done, a lack of this can upset the ovaries, and it reduces the benefits of progesterone. There's plenty of info about vitamin D on the PCOS page. Take care Wray
