MENTAL ILLNESS FOR YEARS

by CASSIE
(ILLINOIS)

I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CLINICAL DEPRESSION FOR OVER 15 YEARS WITH MULTIPLE MEDICATIONS OVER THE YEARS. AS THE YEARS WENT BY I DEALT WITH ANXIETY AND FEAR THAT HAS BEEN EVEN WORSE THAN THE DEPRESSION. STARTED PERI MENOPAUSE MAKING LIFE UNBEARABLE IF THAT'S EVEN POSSIBLE.SEEING THIS WEBSITE WAS ENCOURAGING HOWEVER, I HAVE BEEN TAKING THE ENERGY BOOST AND PROGESTERONE CREAM FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS AND HAVE DEALT WITH ONLY INCREASED ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION. I AM ON A HIGHER DOSE, OVER 1000MG BUT HAVE FOUND NO RELIEF. DOES THIS MEAN ALL IS LOST. BECAUSE IT FEELS LIKE IT AND MAYBE IT ONLY RELIEVES MILD DEPRESSION, NOT SOMEONE LIKE ME?

I'm so sorry you are dealing with this. I too have a similar story, it's been a two year journey to find some relief. For me it was a combination of things. I had to cut out dairy and wheat from my diet. Wheat was causing me terrible anxiety and heart palpitations. I use the progesterone cream twice a day and I use low dose testosterone, and I meditate every day to help lower the stress. And exercise 4 days a week. I also had to cut some things out of my life. You will have to keep searching for what works for you. There is no one answer. But you are on the right track with the cream. Have you had your levels checked? Including vitamin D? A deficiency in d can cause anxiety,

High dose
by: H

Hi,

I think it sounds like it's a very high dose. I was on a relatively low dose (50-80 mg) and experienced symptoms of estrogen-dominance that _disappeared_ once I quit the progesterone after 1,5 years. So you can overdose on progesterone. More is not necessarily better.

Another thing is that it takes time! I was seriously ill from stress for 3 years and it took me 1,5 years on progesterone to relieve most symptoms. So don't expect to be better after only 2 months.

Third; a lot of people get worse in the beginning because progesterone reactivates receptors for both estrogen and progesterone and if you have a lot of estrogen, it can get worse for a while. Just wait it out.

Anyway, I would recommend that you go down in dose and give healing some time. It's hard and takes a lot of patience, but it will get better.

MENTAL ILLNESS

VITAMIN D LEVEL LAST CHECKED WAS 54. TAKING HIGH DOSES BY DOCTOR OF IT.HAVE SINCE LOWERED THE DOSE TO AROUND 500MG OF PROGESTERONE CREAM SO GET AWAY FROM ALL THE DOMINANT SYMPTOMS OF EXCESSIVE THIRST, CYSTIC ACNE, WEIGHT GAIN,HAIR LOSS, AND TINNITUS. HAS ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE HAD A MENTAL ILLNESS BEFORE GOING INTO PERI MENOPAUSE AND FOUND THE ILLNESS THAT MUCH MORE DEBILITATING? I NEED ANY ENCOURAGEMENT I CAN GET. MUCH APPRECIATED.

Deprssion
by: Cici

Hi Cassie
I have major depression and GAD and am in peri. And it's gotten worse. I've tried everything doc's gave me this last year when I've really hit bottom. But I'm so sensitive to antidepressants I can't take them. I just found this site so haven't tried progesterone yet. Although I am on BC pill. Your post makes me sad as I was thinking progesterone might be the answer. I hope it helps with tweaking dose.

MENTAL ILLNESS FOR YEARS

CICI,
IT'S GOOD TO HEAR FROM YOU. I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN RELIEVED OF THEIR ILLNESS BUT HAVE YET TO FIND ANYTHING ON THE WEBSITE YET. I AM CURRENTLY TAKNG THE ENERGY BOOST SUPPLEMENTS(NOW OUT OF STOCK) AND THE RECOMMENDATIONS WRAY SUGGESTS FOR DEPRESSION. MY VITAMIN D LEVELS ARE NOW 98 BUT, NO I HAVE NOT FOUND RELIEF FROM THE DEPRESSION. IT HAS BEEN 3 MONTHS. BUT I DO SEE THAT IF I DID NOT TAKE THE CREAM THINGS WOULD BE MUCH WORSE WITH THE PERI MENOPAUSE. MY BLOOD PRESSURE HAS GONE DONE, INFLAMMATION AND WEIGHT HAS GONE DOWN. I HAVE TO TAKE IT HOURLY TO HELP BETTER WITH THE SYMPTOMS. I HOPE AND PRAY THIS IS THE ANSWER FOR ME. I'LL HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE.

Update

Have found that eating every 3 hours small meals and applying before each has helped stabilize things somewhat. Also discovered the MTHFR mutation is present so started deplin. Praying better things to come...

Feeling hopeful
by: Cassie

Was having hypoglycemic episodes not realizing it since the last update which became more severe with depression, anxiety and full panic. Recently started Bernadine, and in 2 days it's stabilized things pretty significantly. I also started magnesium glycinate. I am hopeful as many anxiety symptoms seem to come under this deficiency and I found many of my psych meds deplete magnesium. Thankfully I am off all of them, so they cannot further rob my health. It's really scary and terrible when you have to try to figure out what is going on with you when the medical industry doesn't know or is so limited in what they have been taught.
