Maximum dose of miligrams (mg) per day of progesterone
by: Wray

Hi there We do have a page on Pregnancy which gives all the info. The page has plenty of papers on miscarriage and pre-term births, but generally between 200-600mg/day are given. Although a woman has just written in saying her doctor has given her 1600mg/day, obviously he's taking no chances! If you'd like to see other women's comments on their pregnancy, please put the word into our search field top left of every page, and you'll find 10 pages each with 10 links, each of which has many comments! Take care Wray

Progesterone cream dosing
by: JenM

Hi, I’ve been prescribed 25mg of progesterone at night for the last 14 days of my cycle.

I’m 42 and still have regular periods but I have bad cramping and pms. I started getting really bad headaches a week after taking.

Most dosage info says to take 20-40mg a day. But after reading more in here I’ve increased my dose. I’m hoping 100mg is by too much and that I don’t have to take that much for too long. How long should I be taking that dose? 1 or 2 cycles or more? Also, can I apply the cream 3 days a day to get up to 100mg?
