can progesterone cause constipation?

Hi Bri

There are many Progesterone Misconceptions about progesterone, this would be one of the. You don't say how much progesterone cream you are using. It really isn't a good idea using it on and off. This will mess with your hormones! Between 100-200mg progesterone is needed using a 3% cream. Please read the How to use Progesterone Cream and Estrogen Dominancepages.

Constipation is almost always caused by poor nutrition and a lack of dietary fibre. One other cause is too little water in the gut. Progesterone, because of its ability to reduce water retention, can cure the condition, see here. If the gut isn't healthy, neither will you be. Eat lots of fermented foods if you can.

What is your Vitamin D3 level? A deficiency reduces the benefits of progesterone. It should be between 70-100ng/ml. It is also connected to every single function cell in our bodies making it vital. Cofactors are required.

thank you for this page! it’s not a lack of fiber, i eat very healthy no processed, workout every day, drink 160 oz of fluid every day, which is why i’m thinking it’s hormonal… ive had mold poisoning and ever since my hormones are wacky. my progesterone is 75 mg a pump, o didn’t see a percentage. so ive been doing about 100 mg a day last few days to see if it would help
