Acne Cure!

by Louise
(Australia)

I have suffered from acne on an off my entire adult life. It became better in my early 20s but for some reason really flared up again at around 25. Not wanting to take the pill again I decided to embark on a search to finally find a cure. I have tried homeopathy, aryvedic medicine, chinese medicine, natropathy, hypnotherapy, an entirely alkaline diet, meditation, yoga, light therapies and facial treatments...not to mention numerous beauty products.

Its not to say that the above methods did not work at all, far from it. They improved the problem but the acne while slightly better was still there.

Acne is a horrible affliction to live with - my self esteem took a severe beating and altered the way I would socially interact with others-this then affected my job and relationships. I really would suffer moments of complete despair which would side into periods of depression. Although I was living such a healthy lifestyle the refection that I would see in the mirror did not the way I felt inside which was fit and well! Luckily my family and friends were a huge support and were always there to lift my spirts.

However...about for months ago a friend recommended Nat Pro...after a visit to a dermatologist in France I was convinced after all this time to perhaps try the Diane 35 pill again...yet after reading all the side effects I couldn't take it. It seemed to put me back to where I started after all these years of research and experimenting. After reading about the benefits of natural progesterone it seemed to make sense to give Nat Pro a try.

I have been using Nat pro for four months. I am now 32 years old and for the first time in 7 years I have clear skin. Honestly I noticed a difference after a few days - the sebum in my skin seemed reduce and my skin felt more mat. Now after not having hormonal break outs every month my skin is beginning to heal and look more radiant. When I look at my reflection in the morning its nice to actually see my face and not look at what new spots have arrived over night! I can not tell you how free this has made me feel - thank you.

I hope that this post might help other people find a cure for their acne. A healthy diet and lifestyle are essential but Nat pro has really made me feel like my true self again. I can not thank you enough.

Are you taking it every day
by: David G. Mills

Or are you taking it between ovulation and menstruation?

How much do you take?

I am curious because one of my daughters, the one who is not taking progesterone and who really needs to take it for depression and cervical displasia, can't seem to take it on any kind of regular basis. She does have acne though and maybe if it cleared up her skin and she could see a reason for taking it every day then maybe I could get her to take it.

Very happy for you. Acne can certainly bring you down.

Acne Cure!

Hi Louise Bless you for telling us this! Acne is an appalling affliction, there's nothing you can do to cover it up. You probably know, but for others reading this page, I'll add here the reason for it's cause. High testosterone initiates acne, see here. If bound to SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin) testosterone becomes inactive, progesterone raises levels of SHBG, see here, so preventing the rise of free testosterone and severe PMS. SHBG drops if sugars are eaten, even those found in all grains, legumes, processed milk and sweet starchy fruits and vegetables. Fructose, sucrose and glucose, reduce SHBG by 80, 50 and 40% respectively, see here. Thereby allowing testosterone to rise. It's best to avoid all the foods and sugars mentioned. Wine and beers contain carbs, so it's best to avoid those too. Plus alcohol affects hormone levels in women, see here and here. It decreases progesterone levels and increases androgen levels, both the total testosterone and free testosterone become higher. Testosterone is notorious at increasing visceral fat, which causes abdominal fat gain, see here and here. The lowered progesterone, higher testosterone probably accounts for the increased risk in breast cancer risk among women, see here and here. Higher testosterone is also associated with an increased risk for Insulin Resistance and heart disease, see here. Continued below

Acne Cure! Part 2
by: Wray

Hi Louise Sugars and large meals also drop progesterone levels, see here. Plus insulin drops levels too, see here. This means SHBG also drops, testosterone rises, another vicious cycle. I have found if PCOS is present, the acne is difficult to resolve. Progesterone alone won't be sufficient, the oxidative stress behind PCOS has to be reversed first before any healing can take place. This entails taking large doses of antioxidants, far higher than those found in caps or tabs from a health shop. Although your skin has healed, please have a vitamin D test done. A lack of this reduces the benefits of progesterone, but a lack also predisposes to acne. Massive doses have in the past cured it, but governments have become hysterical about high doses. The RDA now being 600iu per day, the maximum dose being 2000iu. Amounts over 500,000iu per day were given in the 1930's, see here, here, here and here. Take care Wray
