Will it help my hair loss

by rebecca
(australia )

I am 35 year old female who has been suffering hair loss for over 7 years now.

I have never tried rogaine or any other medications as I feel I don't want to start something my body will become dependent on at such a young age.

I have been to a Naturopath who has diagnosed me with Adrenal Fatigue.

Some other things to note, I often get yeast infections, I have had one child who is now three, my shed post partum was terrible.

My past 18 months have been very stressful and I believe has contributed to my hair loss.

I have a regular 28 day period and my hair is getting thinner to the point where it's becoming more noticeable.

I am on no supplements.

My bloods have all come back fine.

I'm wondering if progesterone cream would help me?

Will it help my hair loss

Hi Rebecca

Hair Loss is a great concern to many and no one has been able to confirm the actual cause. However, there are a number of possible causes and stress is certainly one of them, you seem to have connected with the stress part of it. I commend you for not wanting to go the meds route, I do not believe that it is necessary. Thyroid issues can also cause it, have you had your thyroid tested?

This adrenal fatigue cocktail certainly helped me and so many others, perhaps it will help you:

Take the following 1-2 times/day an hour before or after food. Do NOT use this first thing in the morning. This cocktail will nourish the adrenals when needed.

One application:

•4oz/125ml freshly squeezed Orange Juice – the vitamin C makes sure that the minerals noted below get to the liver to nourish the adrenals
•1/4 tsp of Cream of Tartar - this is an excellent source of Potassium
•1/4 tsp of fresh ground Himalayan Sea Salt - this is an excellent source of Sodium and other minerals

Mix the above at the start of the day with enough liquid for two (2) applications i.e. 8oz/125ml of orange juice. Drink it mid-morning, as well as mid-afternoon. In addition, any time that you are feeling particularly anxious it would be advisable to prepare another mixture and take it.

Please note: For those who have blood sugar problems, use lemon juice mixed with a little water, you are looking for the vitamin C.

Sounds to me like you have Candida, have you been tested? I am pleased to hear that you have a regular 28 day period however, you are in, or just about to enter Peri-Menopause which can be a torrid time for most women but it need not be with the help of a good natural progesterone cream. I am concerned when you say that you are not on any supplements. What about Vitamin D3? A deficiency reduces the benefits of progesterone but it is also connected to every single functioning cell in our bodies make it vital. What about Magnesium, an important co-factor for vitamin D3 and also health in general. we are all deficient if we do not supplement.

I want to freak out when I hear 'my tests are normal or fine' what exactly is normal and fine? Please compare your test results with the Hormone Testing page, these are the correct tests that one should be looking at. What are your progesterone and estrogen (E2) results? One needs to know this to work out a ratio, did they give you are ratio, if so, what is it?

To answer your question, yes progesterone therapy will certainly help you, we all need it. Please read the How to use Progesterone Cream and Estrogen Dominance pages carefully. If you are going to consider progesterone, please start with 200mg per day, using a 3.33% cream for 2-6 months, use every day with NO breaks. Once your adverse symptoms clear, then you can start using by following your cycle again, but do bare in mind that peri-menopause brings on irregular periods and nothing can change the natural process of the body as it ages. Some are lucky in that their periods remain normal like you,but this could soon change. Using progesterone now will prepare you for Menopause.
