Dont take a heap of your pills! You cant stop your period after it starts, you could mess your system right up doing that!

Hi Tegan As the anon comment expressed, it's not a good idea. It would not stop it either, as one way of causing bleeding is to take a large amount. Some women do this instead of the morning after, or emergency contraceptive pill. It will only stop the bleeding if you continue with the very high amount, and then there is the risk of clotting and more. I would also ask you to look through our page on Contraceptives too, it will give you some insight into the risks involved in taking them. No contraceptive pill contains progesterone, they only contain a progestin, or synthetic progesterone. To stop heavy bleeding in a woman with dysfunctional uterine bleeding, 400mg/day progesterone is needed, occasionally some need 600mg/day. See our page on Menstruation. Take care Wray
