So Very Tired

I have been using Progest 100 Capsules for a few years also use Estalis Parches. I still feel really tired most of the time and have lots of Migraines again. They had stopped for a few years. I also use Magnesium each day 3 x 100 per day.

I never felt like geting out of bed in the morning but seem to drag myself out. I still work 5 full days a week and look after Grandchildren most week ends, which I Love. Once I get going I feel fine. But if only I could wake up feeling Grand some days it would be so great.

I also have tried Vit B, Ginseng, for energy I don't take Vit C as I have 1 One Gene belonging to The Iron overload family which I passed on to my son. He gets Blood taken every so often but apprently I don't require this treatment.

Just wondering if your Progesterone Cream would make a difference? I had used Serenity cream a few years ago. Surely the Progest Caps should work a lot faster than the cream?

Awaiting your reply
Kind Regards

So Very Tired

Hi Maire Unfortunately oral progesterone is the least affective delivery system, as most gets destroyed by the gut and liver, see Progesterone application methods. The best systems are injections (very painful), suppositories and creams. These all bypass the liver which metabolises progesterone before it can be used. You are also using oestrogen patches, this will counter any good affect the progesterone will have. Please consider stopping them, see our page on HRT for more info. Progesterone is effective for migraines, see here, here and here. The tiredness should go too, if you use only progesterone. Please consider having a vitamin D test done, for more info see the Vitamin D council website. As you live in Australia, your level is probably very low, as you're encouraged to avoid the sun and use sunscreen, please don't, see here. The sun is vital for the manufacture of vitamin D, see here. If you should consider changing to only progesterone, please use sufficient. I recommend 100-200mg/day, dependant on symptoms. But please see the Oestrogen Dominance page before you do. You might like to read our page on Menopause too. Take care Wray
