Shelf life & expiration date...

by Felicia
(NYC)

Hi, I inadvertently ended up buying 2 tubes of Natpro instead of 1 & am using this cream for premenopausal estrogen dominance (39-yr-old female, regular 28-day cycle, using progesterone 14 days of the month). I'm still using up a previous tube of progesterone cream by Source Naturals, so it's going to take a while before I begin using the extra tube of Natpro. The expiration date stamped on the tube says Apr13 - does that mean April 2013? I just want to be sure. Thanks.

Hi Felicia Yes it does mean that. But it appears you're not using much progesterone, as one tube of Natpro should only last a month, if that. I recommend 100-200mg/day dependant on symptoms. The SN you're currently using has the same amount of progesterone, but in far more cream. That too should be finished in a month. Unless you're finding your symptoms are being helped. We do have a page on How to use progesterone cream and another on Oestrogen Dominance. Take care Wray

Too much cream

100-200mg is way too much progesterone cream. When I attempted this I got the worst headaches. Everywhere else I read recommends 15-30mg. Why does this site suggest such a high amount?

Hi Anonymous

It has been mentioned ad nauseam about the correct dose to use. How long did you use the correct amount for? It can take 2-6 months before positive results are achieved. It all depends on how much excess estrogen one has which causes severe symptoms. The How to use Progesterone Cream page explains all of this.
Headaches are a common Estrogen Dominance symptom.

If you use the search bar you will find many posts relating this.

Enjoy your day.
