Progesterone stopped uncontrolled uterine bleeding

by Carmen Conley
(Pittsburg, Texas)

I have bled everyday for over 15 years. Often the bleeding included baseball sized clots and would leave me weak and severely anemic. I would have to bathe almost every hour and would change complete clothing four times a day. I would have to have multiple blood transfusions in the hospital. Within days of taking natural progesterone prescribed by my holistic Doctor, the excessive bleeding was under control. I no longer have to drag around multiple clothing changes. I no longer have any clotting.

Progesterone stopped uncontrolled uterine bleeding

Hi Carmen Thank you for sharing this with us, it is amazing stuff. I'm still baffled why so few doctors know about it. It's the drop in progesterone which causes our monthly bleed, but it's MMP's, which are enzymes, that actually do the work as they break down protein. They play a role in the breakdown of endometrial tissues at the end of the menstrual cycle, see here If they are over active, as would be the case with excess oestrogen in the body, as oestrogen stimulates their production, the result is a pathological reaction. A high level of MMP's can lead to inflammation, spotting and/or excessive bleeding in the uterus. If a low level of progesterone is present, and a high level of oestrogen, the lining will continue to grow. With a high level of MMP's the lining will also continue to break down. Progesterone suppresses both MMP's, see here, and oestrogen. All quite simple really, and yet so little known. I've found 400mg/day progesterone normally stops it, although if very severe more might be needed. Take care Wray

Uncontrolled Uterine Bleeding
by: Joy (South Africa)

Oh my word Carmen, I could not imagine bleeding every day for 15 years, you poor thing!! So happy that progesterone has helped to clear this up. You are fortunate that your doctor suggested progesterone, a lot of them don't.

Wray will be delighted to here this and I am sure that she will comment soon.

Don't stop using progesterone!

Take care.
