Progesterone Saved me.

by Boni
(MONROVIA CA)

Going thru menopause for 23 yrs has been a nightmare.. I was having anxiety, panic attacks, feeling overwhelmed . I had so many doctors tell me I needed a antidepressant, if I was having problems in my marriage..etc. I was even told I was a little crazy. I finally found a wonderful doctor that ran test and told me NOTHING was wrong with me, my progesterone was extremely low. After she increased it ( I wear the estrogen patch and combi patch) with some progesterone cream my life was back on track.

Now when I get that anxiety ,panic feeling I just add a little more cream and I am good to go. Progesterone has saved my ife.

Hi there

I am so happy to hear that Progesterone has saved you. I hope you are using Natpro. It is wonderful. I am just curious to read that you are using an Estrogen patch as well. I don't think anyone needs extra Estrogen. It's the Progesterone we need to supplement. I am sure Wray will tell you the same.

All the best
Carol.

Hi Boni

I can identify with you totally. Progesterone saved me too! I was also having problems with my marriage and with the stress of it all, I believe, brought on menopause.

Isn't it so typical of doctors 'fobbing' us off by saying 'here take a pill!! You are so fortunate to have found a doctor who gave you progesterone. However, I do not believe you need the estrogen/combi patch, no women should take extra estrogen, there are over 100 estrogen mimics in our environment alone. Please read the HRT page.

How much progesterone cream are you using? Nothing less than 100mg/3ml per day is needed. Do make sure that the cream that you are using is as natural as possible. This is an excellent cream, I use it after trying another brand which did not help as the cream was too thick. The thicker the cream, the more difficult it is for the progesterone to absorb.

Stress does cause our progesterone levels to drop, when this happens it is a good idea to use more cream. Another important factor, is vitamin D, a deficiency reduces the benefits of progesterone. See here.

Hi Boni I'm so pleased the progesterone has helped you, but I'm a bit puzzled why you are using two patches, both with oestrogen. If you stopped both I don't think you will have anymore Anxiety or panic feelings. You might like to read more about what HRT does to us. Take care Wray
