periods every 2 weeks.

by Cecilia

Hi, I started using a natural progesterone cream 6 months ago. Felt great, decreased bloating, hairloss and hot flashes. Unfortunately, started having periods and slowly but surely, started bleeding every 2 weeks.

I tried different ways of doing the cream, can't do the night time dose because it makes me very nervous and end up having nightmares.

Before the cream, I was only having about 2 to 3 periods per year. I tried doing the cream every day, even through periods, but it gives me a headache. I tried only stopping 5 days out of the month.

Anyway, I was wondering what is the recommendation?

Hi Cecilia

I need a little more information please. When you say that you started having periods etc, are you in menopause or peri-menopause? How old are you? You don't state what cream you are using or how much. Using the cream 5 days out of the month is incorrect and will cause issues for you. Let me know more info please.

I can find no evidence that links progesterone and nightmares. Nightmares can be caused by a lack of tryptophan, please ask your doctor to test this. Use the cream late afternoon if you can't use it at night, experiment with it. Progesterone cream must be used no less than twice a day.
