As the title says, im considering trying Progesterone to aleviate my health condition (ME/CFS) - the most notable symptom being PEM - psot-exertional malaise. Im able to source Microgest PROGESTERONE 100mg, should i try this specific product - i could split the pill in half if the dose is regarded as too strong? I'm male, 42 and have not other health issues.

Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/ Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for 10 years..should I try Progesterone?

Hi Kaz

I am afraid I do not recommend Microgest at all. It is not natural progesterone, belongs to a group of medications called Progestins.  Many people get confused between natural progesterone and progestins which are synthetic. Doctors do not seem to explain this to their patients. This will only make your symptoms worse.  I must just add for interest's sake, that any form of oral natural progesterone is not the best Delivery Method as around 96% gets destroyed by the gut and liver - see here.  Please consider using a natural progesterone such as Natpro.

Chronic fatigue could be caused by high estrogen, low vitamin D3, see here, low progesterone or Insulin Resistancehere and here.

If you do decide to try natural progesterone please read How to use Progesterone Cream and Estrogen Dominance.

A word on Vitamin D3 which I suspect you are deficient as you live in the UK. A deficiency reduces the benefits of progesterone. It is connected to every single functioning cell in our bodies making it vital. Making it vital.  Please consider having a test.
