Hi Gill

I think Wray would tell you that you should probably be on a high level of progesterone for awhile.

Try to read through some of the articles about the symptoms of estrogen dominance, etc., and the recommended dosages.

I'm sorry I'm not much more help than that; I'm still learning myself. : )

Hopefully someone else can also give some suggestions? But in the meantime, read about the symptoms and read about progesterone itself (so that you don't get something that won't do you much good). It's all here on Wray's site.

Don't give up!

Hi Gill

At 53 you are nearing the end of Peri-Menopause and entering Menopause, not a good time for most women. Progesterone is needed to help you through this difficult time. Heavy bleeding can be controlled by using potent amino acids, the Heavy Bleeding Protocol as we like to call it as listed:

*Natpro Progesterone Cream - 400mg to 500mg/per day * N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC) - 2000mg/per day * Taurine - 2000mg/per day * Vitamin D - 5000iu's/per day more if vitamin D level is low * Bioflavanoids - 1000mg/per day

The Mirena is probably one of the worst contraceptives going – see http://www.rxlist.com/mirena-drug.htm. Please consider having it removed, it is contributing to your Estrogen Dominance symptoms. Why would your doctor give you this when suffering from fibroids? I have to be honest with you, I too am confused, as he have given you Micronor while you have the Mirena, how bizarre! He probably thinks that both will help to control the bleeding, both are so unnecessary. All drug based contraceptives and HRT have a potential to cause harm – see Contraceptives. Fibroids are caused by oxidative stress, and the above protocol will help with that too. It is not an overnight fix and does take time.

Vitamin D is extremely important, do you know what your level is as a deficiency reduces the benefits of progesterone? It is also connected to every single cell and its formation in our bodies, including fibroids, it is vital.

Hope this helps you to make the right choice.
