Menopause is the worst thing ever!

by Scianna

Worst thing that ever happened to me! I loved not having periods but my skin has always been so sensitive and menopause threw me into hyper sensitivity down there! I got too dry and a terrible dry place just up my rectum for 3 years now that just won’t heal or go away, I feel my life is over.

I went on HRT and Premarin cream. The only thing to save me from terrible dryness and the worst urinary inflamation. I won’t ever leave the Premarin cream or the pill but I take only 1 mg a day by cutting it in half and my bum seemed to greatly improve. Will take the Proges cream because I have a uterus and it is advised to be on progesterone cream but no way am I going off the pill or Premarin. Just no way! I feel my life is finally improving to normal.

Menopause is the worst thing ever!

Hi Scianna

Menopause can be a challenge, but it need not be with the correct use of progesterone. Between 100-200mg per day is recommended, more if symptoms are severe. I don't believe that any woman needs to take extra estrogen as there are well over 100 estrogen mimics in our environment as it is. If you are in menopause, why are you taking the pill? By taking and using HRT and the pill you would be in a permanent state of Estrogen Dominance. The idea of progesterone therapy is to make progesterone the dominant hormone.

Natpro progesterone cream is excellent for dryness when inserted into the vagina at night.

Do you know what your Vitamin D3 level is? A deficiency reduces the benefits of progesterone. Nothing less that 5,000iu's per day is needed plus co-factors mentioned on the page. Optimal range is between 70-100ng/mL

Aaaaagggg!
by: Scianna

I only got relief after taking the pill and using Premarin and I know my body better than any other on the planet. I’m sticking with my hrt. End of discussion. No woman’s body is the same as another. Your body does not respond as mine. I know what works. I only take Proges to protect my uterus. When I and my body is ready I will withdraw off of what I am on now. I hope to be fully off by age 55. I am maintaining on as low a dose as I can tolerate with these awful symptoms. I have not been able to hardly walk or ride my bike since menopause came. It has severely crippled me. You say one thing and my doctors quite another and it makes me want to pull my hair out cuz I cannot trust anyone but God! I know what is helping me try to survive this. I have probably had the worst case of dryness than any other woman alive. I am taking 100 mg Proges a day, no more no less.

One question: why are you on this site then if you are doing okay on your HRT? Joy is only trying to help, as others who comment.
I wish you the best on your journey.

Menopause is the worst thing ever!
by: RJ

Hello to you Joy and Mal! Doesn't seem like over a year has passed, does it. Hope all is well with you both! We are surviving over here in the states.

To the poster....one can only read that you lack progesterone. You suffer from one of the many side effects of menopause and progesterone deficiency....irritability. You will find that as you progress further into this change of life it is only going to get worse. In desperation you will look for something to help you because your doctor only has pills to prescribe for your ailments and your symptoms may be outside of the box and not be the norm and they can't bother with you any longer.

Keep your mind open to increasing progesterone. I have been on 400 mg a day for over five years now. Think how many women get cancers of the reproductive organs "after" menopause. What is lacking now that our systems have stopped? Progesterone. The 100 mg a day of progesterone you are taking is only giving the estrogen that is in your body a party environment. Remember estrogen MUST be balanced with progesterone and when the body doesn't make it any longer where do you believe it is going to get it?

God Bless!
RJ

more then 100 mg which way?
by: Magdalena

Hi.
I tried progesteron creme (live in Switzerland, cream from Germany, compound pharmacy) vaginally 100mg.
I am not able to do sports I am so tired, I don't know at all how women here write they use 400 mg & even higher?!

By 100mg orally it was ok but it is not the way I want to use it.

(I DO use bioidentical BiEst vaginally, as Dr Jonathan Wright & many other suggests.)

How is it possible to use THIS P.cream here VAGINALLY if it is pumped? Or even if a cream, how do I manage it inside my vagina?

Can I use the P.dose VAGINALLY LOWER then 100mg because I can't tolerate 100mg? Because vaginal absorbtion is quite higher than via skin, topical.

Hi Magdalena

Your compounded cream could contain estrogen and or testosterone. I do not believe that any women needs to take extra estrogen and that includes BiEst. Please consider using a good organic progesterone cream. Progesterone should be used no less than twice a day to keep progesterone levels stable at all times. Use half in the morning and the other half at night. The best way to insert in the vagina is to use your finger, that is what I do every night.

Oral progesterone is not the best delivery as 96% gets destroyed by the gut and liver.
