Large 10cm + complex ovarian cyst plus high CA-125 of 512

Hi,
My sister had been having abdominal pain prior to her period. An ultrasound last week has shown a large 10cm+ ovarian mass and a high CA-125 score of 512.
She is booked for surgery on the 30th of August as there is a concern of cancer.
She is scared of the surgery and that they may remove her ovary/ovaries or find cancer.
Is there any point in delaying the surgery and trying the progesterone cream route?
I had endometriosis surgery 7 years ago and since then I feel the cream has helped me.
