Ic and pcos

by Brandie
(PA)

I am 44 years old, I have Interstitial Cystitis and pcos. I just came off of birth control after 30 years of it, off and on but steady after the birth of my daughter. Then about 10 years ago came the IC diagnosis.

I know I need the cream and have purchased it, but not sure when to start it and for how long? Do I just use it every day due to my issues or take breaks? Also dosage? Thank you

Hi Brandie

Gosh 30 years on birth control is a long time. All drug based Contraceptives have a potential to cause harm. You might like to read some Research Papers on this. Well done for stopping them. The Cystitis page may also help you as well as the page on PCOS.

Between 100-200mg progesterone cream is usually recommended, more may be needed. You will have to experiment to see what works for you best. Use half the amount in the morning and the other half at night. The How to use Progesterone Cream page explains this in more detail. Please also read the Estrogen Dominance page.

You are in Peri-Menopause which can be a terrible time. I suggest that you use the cream every day with no breaks. Progesterone therapy is a life long commitment, the moment you stop using, symptoms will return.

By using the search bar you will discover so much information about progesterone and it's benefits.
