I thought Progesterone cream helped regulate irregular periods????

by katrina
(georgia)

I am 45 and have been dealing with mensing every 10 to 15 days and never ovulate since my body does not have enough progesterone. I was tested and said i had "plenty of estrogen" .
I too am confused in how much cream I should be using especially what day to start as they say day 10-12 after period. No matter what I do I still get an early period. I have only used the recommended amount from Dr Lee site so any ideas how much and when to start to use the cream? Im buying too much stock into tampons and will not take birth control.

Hello Katrina!
Regulating irregular periods are going to be a thing of the past for you since you are in perimenopause now. And if you are following Dr. Lee's recommendation you are taking far too low amounts of progesterone....I believe he recommends 20-40 mg a day. I am 49 and my problems started over three years ago. I take anywhere from 400-1,000 mg every day. Once you are in peri and your cycles become irregular there is no cycle to follow and trying to figure out when you should take it will be impossible due to your irregularity of that cycle. Read through Wray's site...tons of valuable info on it and also look into using Natpro...I have tried a lot of creams and her's is the best. God Bless! RJ
