How old is too old to use natural progesterone?

by DeAnn
(Tujunga, CA)

I don't have a story. I have a question.

I am 68 years old and have been using Natpro off and on for several years. Most recently I have used it daily for about six or seven months.

It has finally occurred to me to ask whether I am now too old to be using Natpro.

I was expecting Wray to answer this question.

I really do want to know from an expert. I don't necessarily want opinions about this question but a really good, well-documented answer.

Note from webmaster: DeAnn, as I'm sure you are aware Wray answers dozens of queries every day so delays happen. Please be patient and I'm sure she will answer in due course.

How old is too old to use natural progesterone?
by: Wray

Hi DeAnn I hope never too old! As a friend once said to me, she will go to her grave with a tube in her hand! I will be the same too. I've used it daily now for 14 years and will never be without it. It's very beneficial for ageing too. Please see here, here, here and here. Take care Wray

Age to start?
by: Lana

I have heard that if any kind of HRT is not started at or before menopause it is not advised that a person ever start. I am in my 70's and still working. Would like to avoid the mental decline that so many seem to predict. Several years ago I used a progesterone cream, but something deterred me, so, after a few years, I stopped. Now, I am considering restarting. Do you see any contraindications in my brief story? If I do start using it again, I will need to stay clear of those preservatives (potassium sorbate, the benzoates, etc) as I have terrible reactions to them.

Too old to restart
by: Missy

Wondering if anyone still responds to current questions. I am also wondering about restarting bio. progesterone cream for bad anxiety and insomnia. I am going to be 64 in 2 weeks. Progesterone helped me a lot going through preimenopause and I am wondering if it can help again. Is it advisable to use it indefinitely?
