Health Coach checking for a client

Hi - I have a client that has just had a mastectomy and has been put onto Anastrozole aromatase inhibitor by her doctor. What are your thoughts on this and do you think that she could come off it and only do your natural Progesterone? She has also developed terrible acid reflux and her doctor has also now prescribed her Nexium antacid!!! I would love to be able to suggest that she come off everything and only does the Natural Progesterone because I think that the reflux is a side effect of the Aromatase inhibitor. I also don't think that the Anastrozole Aromatase inhibitor is doing her any favors.

Really looking forward to hearing from you with your thoughts. I have asked Joy in SA and she has been able to give me limited info.

Health Coach checking for a client - Aromatase Inhibitor
by: Joy

Hi Colleen

We went through some of Wray's unpublished work and found quite a lot on progesterone and Aromatase Inhibitor. Progesterone is actually an inhibitor. "In both men and women, testosterone is converted to estrogen by the enzyme aromatase. Excess testosterone will increase estrogen levels. Progesterone is an aromatase inhibitor".

Studies found that an aromatase inhibitor, significantly reduced both progesterone production and estradiol production see here.

There is simply too much on the subject to post here but I would like others to read this too. I will email the rest of the study papers found. I have learnt so much myself now, so thank you.
