Dosage question

Thank you so much for all the info here. This is so helpful. I'm 38 and had my hormones tested at a clinic a few months ago. They had a compounding pharmacy prepare my Rx, which was either 3 or 6 mg progesterone twice a day. I'm sorry I don't remember if the 6 mg was my total daily dose or each individual dose. I also took a 3 or 6 mg DHEA once a day. I only took the hormones for 1 month because it was expensive, and my period came 5 days early, which I didn't realize was a normal adjustment. But I felt great while I was on it and want to start again with an over-the-counter cream. With an oral dosage that small, would I still need the higher cream dosages that I'm seeing recommended here?
