Copper IUD for future contraceptive method?

Hi
I am 27 years old and have been on the pill since 14, Where I had my first bleeding.
Today I am about to start on Bioidentical progesterone cream and have stopped using the pill.
My BF is in distress because of that.
What I want to ask is.
Will I be able to use a copper IUD as a contraceptive and avoid copper tox and other bad reactions.
What are your recommendations for a balanced life/health whilst using a Copper IUD and progesterone cream?
