Confused

by GerneyLee Carter

I am using the progesterone cream and am having blood serum testing about every three months by conventional doc who has NO CLUE. Therefore I cannot determine if I am using enough due to the confusing measurements.

My last test done last week reveals l.6 ng/mL I am way past menopause, 66 years of age, Stage three breast cancer four and a half years ago + and joints breaking down...osteoathritis. I've used the Progesterone cream to oppose Estrogen + breast cancer with success. I DID NOT TAKE CHEMO OR RADIATION. I used food and Progesterone Cream and nutrition (with testing every three months, Vit.D, etc) to care for myself and Yoga too I might add.

Should I be getting my Progesterone level up highter than this 1.6 ng/mL/ I often forget to use it the second time during the day...must get better at that. Thanks for you help.

Hi GerneyLee I'm delighted you managed to avoid the chemo and rediation. Progesterone does suppress excess oestrogen and testosterone too. In fact there's increasing evidence that testosterone has a huge bearing on cancer, an excess causing it, see here, here, here, here, here here, here, here, here, here and here. The confusing results from your blood tests are due to fluctuating progesterone levels. It's also not the level of progesterone that needs to be looked at but the ratio of progesterone to oestrogen. We've found from Saliva Tests that the ratio should be 600:1 and over to feel well. They are more accurate too. Both oestrogen and testosterone should be taken too. Testosterone saliva levels in a post menopausal woman should be between 16?47 pg/ml and oestradiol should be between 0.5?1.7 pg/ml. ZRT Labs do saliva testing. I do hope you are taking sufficient vitamin D, it should be a minimum of 5000iu's/day. For more info see the Vitamin D council and GrassrootsHealth websites. These are excellent videos too, see here, here and here. I've run out of space so will open a new comment below. Take care Wray

Hi again GerneyLee Progesterone should be used a minimum of twice a day, more often if symptoms are severe. I recommend 100-200mg/day, for more info please see our page on Menopause. Plus our page on Cancer and progesterone. If you are using less than this, and wish to increase it, please first read our page on Oestrogen Dominance. I see you're interested in food as a healing means, please take a look at our page on Nutrition. There are links to excellent sites on food, including one on raw food. Incidentally progesterone is also excellent for the skin, so you can use it on your face in place of a conventional moisturiser, see here. This might help you to remember to use it twice a day! I put it on when I first get up and then again at night before bed. Take care Wray
