60 years old went off biodentical hormones. now having all kinds of issue's

by Terri

I had a complete hysterectomy at 38, in March when I turned 60, I went off Bio-identical hormones. It is now Sep, and I am having vision problems, Peripheral Neuropathy, Exhausted all the time, Brain fog, more arthritis flare ups, insomnia, just all around don't feel good. I was told pre diabetic with a 5.8 score so have gone from 165 to 150 in 3 months. The blood test came back as Estradol 13,and Progesterone 2.0.

I told the Dr. I want to go back on Bio-dentical hormones? My Dr. is a younger Woman who Listens and as long as I know the risks is more than willing to help me start feeling better. My question is where do my # need to be ?? I would love feed back from anyone going through same thing, and What you did.

By the way thank you for This Web site, being here and giving us some direction.

Hi Terri

Being in Menopause you need support. You stopped this which explains your adverse symptoms, you are suffering from Estrogen Dominance. Please consider using a good progesterone cream such as Natpro. Use between 100-200mg per day, half the amount in the morning and the other half at night. If symptoms are severe you may need to use more as explained on the How to use Progesterone Cream page.

Your progeterone:estrogen ratio is 154:1 it should be around 600:1 so you definitely need progesterone and not estrogen. See the Hormone Testing page. Doctors will try to push estrogen but we do not believe that any women needs to take it as there are well over 100 mimics in our Environment as it is.
