This isn't a short story but just the same I will try to shorten it.
In 2002 I stopped taking the pill after 20 years of use (minus time out for one pregnancy). I also had 10+ amalgams removed without protection.
In 2003 I thought I was having a nervous breakdown and, through various doctors, I discovered I had hashimoto's hypothyroidism. I was given T4 medication, instantly my cycle stopped and has never returned, I was 39. I also had instant crohn's disease (although I question the dx). Eventually I was rushed to the hospital, T4 was shutting my thyroid down. Since then I have further been dx'd with secondary adrenal insufficiency (although I'm non-responsive to hydrocortisone), premature menopause, pancreatitis, I still have breast milk (I stopped breast feeding in 1999) and I am often anemic from near constant intestinal bleeding. I am also extremely intolerant to an amazing amount of foods, vitamins and almost all medications. I have tried everything for my thyroid without success including T3 and Armour. Currently I take nothing except L.D.N. I also have hot flashes/night sweats but an extremely low fat diet controls this usually.
Furthermore, for the first nine months of my daughter's life I was stupid enough to believe my doctor, and I took the pill again while breast feeding. I now see some of the same symptoms mentioned above in my 11 year old daughter.
Saliva testing did show that estrogen dominance was probably an issue. Around 2007 I tried natural progesterone cream at a dose of about 1/2 tsp per day@24 days/months...no help. However I'm now wondering if I should have started with a much higher starting dose for several months and then gone down to 1/2 tsp per day.
Do you think many of my problems could be a result of estrogen dominance? Could my pre-menses daughter also have estrogen dominance?
