I've lived with migraines most of my life, but they were rare. I would have a headache maybe once or twice a year.
When I became post-menopausal in November of last year I started to have 2 to 3 migraines a week with aura. The pain of the headaches would last up to 2 days. This lasted for 3 months. I was suspicious that it was a hormone imbalance but still went to my primary care doctor and then a neurologist. Both of them prescribed pain medication that didn't work.
I started to do some research online about bio-identical hormones and came to the conclusion that what I needed was progesterone. I ordered the cream online and as soon as I started using it the migraines have disappeared. It's been 4 months since my last headache! Also, the hot flashes, anxiety attacks, insomnia and mood swings have all but vanished!
