Gaining weight retaining water

by Sally
(California )

I am 77 years of age. I had blood test done by ZRT Labs it came back with both my progesterone & estrogen levels were very high. I had a complete hysterectomy 22 years ago. I had used progesterone before then changed to herbs which I had to stop due to sensitivity.

I am now gaining weight retaining water, low energy some hot flashes incont is the pits so I started checking into progesterone again. I have ordered salvia tests now to check my levels this way.

Do blood levels show higher than salvia?
Thank You
Sally

weight gain - ratio estrogen/progesterone
by: Anonymous

It is important to know what the ratio was between your estrogen and progesterone. Probably estrogen is higher, is my guess, hence the problems. Please read on this site how important it is for progesterone to be the dominant hormone. My guess is you are not taking enough progesterone. Don't add any estrogens. There are enough estrogens floating around in the environment! I hope this helps!
