Coming off HRT

by Jane
(Grantham, UK)

It's not a story but I can't see where else to contact you! If you want to use it as a story, you're welcome to "Top & tail".

My query is about a friend who has been on HRT for 6 years and although quite happy with it senses it would be better to come off it if there's a viable alternative. She went on to HRT because of depression and noticed the day when she suddenly felt better (odd sort of "placebo"?) and doesn't want to return to depression if she were to come off it.

I have been talking to her about Natural Progesterone but cannot advise how she should make the transition.

Any suggestions please?

Coming off HRT

Hi Jane. It would be better to come off the HRT, she might like to read these web pages...
HRT research
Wyeth
Seroxat
It's gentler to come off the HRT slowly, please look at this web page.
Take care, Wray
