Does anyone know what the correct dosage is for using progesterone cream during peri-menopause? The site states it should be used every day but doesn't give a dosage?

What's the dosage for peri-menopause?

Hi Suzie Maybe you haven't seen our page on P-M? Please have a look at it Peri-menopause. The page says... 'All the successful studies done on progesterone use between 100mg to 200mg per day. This equates to 3ml to 6ml of Natpro per day. Some go as high as 400-600mg/day, one as high as 1200mg/day as it was the oral variety'. I've generally found 100-200mg/day is needed, anything less and it either takes too long, or keeps stimulating oestrogen which makes us feel worse. It's a question of playing around with the amount until the optimum is found. Starting high to reduce or eliminate symptoms is the quicker way to achieve results. I've also found a break is not needed, but some prefer to take one, both are fine. I found when I did my symptoms came back, which is why I opted for no break. If you do consider using progesterone, please read the page on Oestrogen Dominance first. This can occur and is most disconcerting when it does. Take care Wray
