what should i do??

Hi!

I am almost 39 years old and started using progesterone cream about 9 day ago. Within the 3rd day I started experiencing a boost of oestrogen (cravings, libido, anger ect) but then was calm again. Tonight after a stressful moment with my husband I started having a light bleeding which I am now wondering if it's only stress or a real period starting...what should I do? stop the cream and see or just keep using it anyway?

the bleeding is light and medium pinkish in color...earlier I had some slight cramping as well

Hi Melli

Progesterone therapy takes anything from 2-6 months, possibly longer before positive results are felt, it all depends on how much excess estrogen you have. It also depends on what progesterone cream you are using as many do not deliver the correct amount of progesterone. How much cream are you actually using? Nothing less than 100mg/3ml per day is recommended, but most find 200mg/6ml helps them quicker in the beginning. Quite often more cream is needed too, it all depends on how severe symptoms are. So not using the cream long enough and possibly not enough progesterone used, would probably account for your Estrogen Dominance symptoms. Please read How to use Progesterone Cream. Have you always had a craving issue, if so you could be Insulin Resistance, have you been tested for that?

I am not sure why you are using progesterone, but your age indicates that you are nearing Peri-Menopause which is a difficult time for most women and progesterone is needed even more at this stage.

Do you know what your Vitamin D3 level is as a deficiency reduces the benefits of progesterone and is vital for every one of our cells to function correctly.

Hi Malli

You have not been using progesterone long enough for it to work. It took 3 months before I started to feel normal again. Make sure that you are using enough cream as well, using too little will mess things up for you. This website is full of information on this.

Good luck.
