Hi Linda

Well if you are doing everything right, then why do all your symptoms point to estrogen dominance?

Just a little confused on (a) 1mg of progesterone and (b) 1 mega vitamin d. What does this mean? Please read this post, it will explain how much progesterone cream is needed. A minimum of 5000iu's of vitamin D is needed per day.

DHEA - no women should take it as it increases testosterone levels, which increases the risk for cancer and heart disease - see here. High free testosterone levels result in weight gain and hair loss too. You do not need estriol either for vaginal dryness, progesterone cream works like a charm!! I do not know anything about synthroid, but I am sure that Wray does.

Hope this helps.

Hi Linda I'm a bit puzzled by the amount of progesterone you're using. 1mg is generally used for cosmetics, not addressing the problems found in many women. Too low a level of progesterone stimulates oestrogen leading to Oestrogen Dominance, one symptom of which is weight gain. DHEA of course raises testosterone levels, see here, here, here and here. So this would also account for the weight gain and the Hair Loss too. Particularly weight gain around the middle, see here and here. You say you are taking a mega vitamin D per day, what is mega? It should be a minimum of 5000iu/day, often more is needed if levels are low. Do you know your level? Too low a level affects the benefits of progesterone. I don't know how old you are or why you started the progesterone, but these are a few pages you could read, see How to use progesterone cream, Peri-menopause and Menopause. I generally recommend 100-200mg/day progesterone, although more is often needed initially. Take care Wray
