Using natural progesterone cream to purposely delay period?

by Sue

If I continue to use my natural progesterone cream beyond my normal 28-day cycle, can it delay my period? I am going on vacation and would like to purposely delay it for a few days.

Using natural progesterone cream to purposely delay period?

Hi Sue

This site receives hundreds of submissions and queries daily, it is virtually impossible to answer each one timeously as much as we would like to!!

Progesterone can be used to delay periods but it needs to be used daily before ovulation and 300-400mg is needed.

delaying periods..
by: fiona

I am not saying this is a good way to do it as taking ibruprofin in not good for so many reasons. but I was going to burning man and for sure did not want an ultra heavy period to come then. I took about 800mg (8 pils) spread through the day of ibruprofin starting 48 hours before my period was due and went continued for another 2 days so a total of 4-5 days.. it delayed my period by at least 4 days which go me through the amazing event without gushing ;-)) Note - first time taking any ibruprofin and pills like that for years.. I also do not take any meds, and am for the most part in good health.
