Three miscarriages and pregnant again.

by Amy
(Florida)

I have had 3 miscarriages (all at weeks 4-6) and 2 live births. I am pregnant for the 6th time, and my doctor has put me on progesterone treatments.

I am highly concerned about how this will affect the baby. Does anyone know what long and short-term effects progesterone has on development? Also, I am concerned that taking progesterone will only delay an inevitable miscarriage. If anyone has experience with this and can direct me to some studies on this, please let me know.

Thank you.

Progesterone is not bad for body, but depends on a lot of tests. If there is not a balance between progesterone and estrogen, then sometimes you need progesterone. You can become a little bit fat, but not much, do not worry.

If you want to keep this baby, then the progesterone can help, but if your miscarriage is because of genetic reasons and not from low progesterone levels, then progesterone will not help much. So, best to know what is the cause of your miscarriage. Good luck !

Three miscarriages and pregnant again

Hi Amy. Please read our web page on progesterone, conception and pregnancy. It has all the info you need to know about it's use. It is extremely safe, in fact vital for pregnancy and does prevent miscarriages. I have helped many women with recurrent miscarriages, who have successfully used progesterone for the entire duration of their pregnancy.

Take care, Wray

Taking Progesterone While Pregnet
by: Anonymous

I was put on progesterone when I was pregnant with my son. This was the only thing keeping me from having a child. I had 5 miscarriages before the doctors realized my body was not producing any progesterone. I did develope toxemia during my pregnancy and my son was born 3 1/2 weeks early. I am not sure if this was frome taking the progesterone. My son was healthy and weighed 8 pounds 2 oz when born. This is the only child I have, and can have no more. After 5 years I had to have a complete hysterectomy due to endometriosis, lesions and the break down of my uterus. I had a lot going on. I don't regret takeing the progesterone, because If I hadn't I would not have had my son.
