Testosterone cream and SHEA vitamin?

by Josefine Brown

I am currently on Testosterone cream due to low libido and pre menopause. I haven't seen to much results in increased libido. I wanted to add some DHEA vitamin from the store, can I combine both of them? If so how much mg?

Testosterone cream and DHEA vitamin?
by: Joy

Hi Josefine

I do not believe that any woman needs to use testosterone, DHEA or estrogen for that matter. Testosterone is associated with Insulin Resistance, Metabolic Syndrome, and Cardiovascular Disease. To me the risks are simply not worth it. There is evidence that progesterone plays a far greater role in sexual health in both men and women, than otherwise thought. You might want to consider using a good progesterone cream instead.

I can't advise on taking DHEA with testosterone as I do not believe that either should be used. DHEA raises androgens, estrogens and prolactin, it causes cysts and can cause cancer.

"DHEA may have a dark side. By facilitating internal production of testosterone and estrogen, supplemental DHEA could accelerate the growth of undetected prostate or breast tumors. Studies have shown higher levels of DHEA - and estrogens made from it - in people with breast cancer and endometrial cancer".
