Simple hyperplasia without atypia

by holly
(new orleans, la)

I am 55 years old and developed prolonged menstrual bleeding. My Dr. did a uterine biopsy which came back as simple hyperplasia. She started me on progesterone pills 100 mg daily. This dose somewhat controlled it but I was having breakthrough bleeding. So I increased the progesterone (on my own) to 100mg twice daily. This has controlled it so far. I will have a repeat biopsy done in May. How long can I safely stay on progesterone and at what dose? Do you have any recommendations for me?? My Dr. did not want to increase the dose for some reason.

PROLONGED BLEEDING
by: Anonymous

FROM ALL THE INFORMATION ON THE WEBSITE, WRAY RECOMMENDS DOSES OF AROUND 400MG TO STOP PROLONGED BLEEDING. IT MAY BENEFIT YOU TO GET A CREAM TO GET YOUR DOSE LEVEL UP. SHE ALSO SPEAKS ABOUT MUCH OF THE BENEFIT BEING BROKEN DOWN WHEN PROGESTERONE IS TAKEN ORALLY, SO TOPICALLY IS MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE.

SIMPLE HYPERPLASIA
by: Anonymous

WRAY'S RECOMMENDATION THROUGH HER EXTENSIVE RESEARCH SPEAKS ON A MINIMUM OF 400MG FOR PROLONGED BLEEDING. SHE ALSO EXPLAINS THAT MUCH OF THE PROGESTERONE PILL IS BROKEN DOWN/DESTROYED BY THE GUT SO THE BENFIT IS SIGNIFICANTLY LESS THAN IT WOULD BE IF YOU WERE TO USE THE CREAM WHICH GETS PICKED UP DIRECTLY INTO THE BLOODSTREAM. IT'S ALSO PUTTING LESS STRAIN ON THE LIVER(VS TAKING THE PILLS). HOPE THIS HELPS.
