Second Miscarrage

by ashkat
(Ga)

On November 2008 and March 2009 I had miscarriages. The doctor said everything was fine with me. So I was just wondering will progesterone work and could I get it from a pharmacy and use it on my own without seeing a doctor first?

Second Miscarrage
by: Wray

Hi Ashkat. If all is fine with you, the chances are the miscarriages were caused by a lack of progesterone. It is possible to use it on your own, but please have a look at this web page first.

To prevent a further miscarriage a higher dose of progesterone than normal is needed, about 200mg/day. Take care, Wray

Progestrone & Second miscarriage
by: Kimy

I'm right now going through my second miscarriage. I had one Feb 2006. Started fertility procedures and just got pregnant in Oct 09. Just Monday, I miscarried. I was using progesterone. I found out that I miscarried by blood work. I have not been able to pass anything and scared that I have blockage and possible damage to my tubes. I have severe cramps and still not bleeding. I was using the progesterone because I had some spotting that my Dr. thought my lining was not forming like it should be. You will have to ask your Dr. to get the prescription. Its not an over the counter item. I hope all is well and good luck! Don't give up. I know I'm not!
