Rheumatoid arthritis and natural progesterone

by Cheryl
(Lawrence, KS)

I have been using natural progesterone since I went through menopause and have been very happy with the results.

My husband has a severe case of rheumatoid arthritis and his feet, ankles, back, wrists, hands, elbows all are so swollen. He normally hates any kind of lotion, but I put progesterone on his sore back one day and later he said how much better his back felt. So I started putting it on all of his major joints and he is feeling much better.

So if anyone has arthritis, make sure you put natural progesterone all over the joints (it is such a relief)

Rheumatoid arthritis and natural progesterone

Hi Cheryl Thanks for sharing this good news. You might be interested in these papers, see here and
here. RA has a predominance of Th1 inflammatory cytokines, see here. Progesterone inhibits them, see here. A high level of MMP's are also present in RA, these cause destruction of the cartilage, see here. Progesterone also inhibits the MMP's, see here. Elevated oestrogen is found in RA, oestrogen is an inflammatory hormone, see here. Progesterone suppresses excess oestrogen. But above all please ask your husband to have a vitamin D test done, a lack of this causes RA, plus a lack reduces the benefits of progesterone, see here, here, here, here and here. For more info see the Vitamin D Council, GrassrootsHealth and Birmingham Hospital websites. Take care Wray

RA

Wray,
Thank you for the papers. He decided yesterday progesterone doesn't help; but our barometric pressure was up to 30.11" - so naturally that will cause any kind of arthritis to flare!! He will come back around - he just hurts so bad that it feels like nothing helps. I think in a couple of years we will move to Colorado as the higher the elevation, the lower the Barometric pressure! Glutathione will reverse his RA, but as with anything natural, it takes time. Glutathione is finally starting to get rid of my eczema but it has taken almost 8 months! Anything natural is worth it in the long run, but it takes longer to get there. It just takes so long to get the inflammation out of the body and all the toxins out in order for the body to do its' thing and heal itself.

He takes 5,000 IUD's of Vitamin D every day - I make sure he does because I know how important vitamin D is to all of us!!
