Only 26 but feeling 56

by Marissa
(Ca)

I am 26. I shouldn't know about hormonal imbalance or use creams for menopausal women but here I am. I had 3 kids by age 22. After my 3rd child I started to feel bad physically. I have tried to go to the doctors but none take me seriously because of my age.

My God mom in her 60's told me to try progesterone for my symptoms which were: acne, swollen painfull breasts, heavy periods, painful periods, mood swings, insomnia, bloating, sinus allergy...

The cream helped with my sleep the first night, and I just had my second period after using the cream, and for the first time in a couple of years I didnt have to take pain meds for severe cramping! I also bled less! I was going through a super tampon every hour the first day or 2 now it was an average period with regular cramping and heavy but not scary heavy bleeding.

I cried out of relief. Progesterone cream has made me feel better and not crazy for wondering what is going on with my body.

Glad its helped you

I'm so pleased to hear that you're better having used the cream. I've just started using it and am wondering what my next period will be like. I too have noticed a real improvement in my mood, sleep, enery levels etc. Will let you know how I get on. Feel like I've discovered a magic cream - you must feel the same!

Good Results

I would love to know for those that are blogging about good results what cream you are using? I am basically in the same boat you were in - after the birth my 2nd child at 24 everything went down hill. Ridiculous acne (never had as a teen) moody, angry, short-tempered for never any good reason, heavy periods (MUST be by a bathroom every 2 hours for the first 2 days). At 36 (yes, I have been driving everyone around me nuts for over 10 years) I am finally researching my "estrogen dominance" issue and not sure where to begin.

My doctor would be completely happy to keep me on the pill until I officially go into menopause and then probably switch me to HRT. I am tired of taking pills (especially since I tied my tubes after the second kid) so I don't bleed to death (11 years now). Any recommendations would be great!

Hi Marissa Please note that hormonal imbalances start at puberty, I put my daughter on progesterone when she was fourteen, and she still uses it 14 years later. I'm so pleased the progesterone has helped you, it should have done. Progesterone is an excellent anti-inflammatory, hence the pain relief. It's best to rub it on painful areas, your tummy and breasts if you should experience it again. Please be aware that stress drops progesterone levels sharply, use more if stress should occur. if you find the heavy bleeding and cramps continue try using a higher dose. It should be between 100-200mg/day, divided am and pm. It's best to go by symptoms, the more severe the more progesterone is needed. Take care, Wray

Good Results

I can't answer what creams the bloggers were using, as they don't mention names, but the one we make has had very good results. A naturopath does regular saliva tests for us to check it's absorption and they always come out excellent. Please see this web page on acne.

I suggest you take 100mg/day of zinc, many people have had remarkable results with it. The dose is high, but it is needed, once the acne has cleared reduce the dose to 15mg/day. The progesterone should help with the mood swings, anger etc., plus the heavy bleeding. You will probably need a high dose to begin with, about 200mg/day. Once the bleeding is lighter reduce the dose to about 100mg/day, using your symptoms as a judge. Please have a look at this web page on oestrogen dominance, because if you do decide to use progesterone this can occur to begin with.

The pill and HRT are not worth the risks, please see these web pages...

Fantastic

I was the one seeking info on the cream bloggers were using. I have been on the progesterone cream for 1 month and the results are amazing. I also immediately took myself off Yaz when I got the cream. I use it once a day. I just got my first period and it was the easiest period of all times. No more bleeding to death, fatigue, or dizzy spells. Also my acne has improved greatly. I have only been on the cream just over a month and am impressed with the results.

Well I'm delighted you've been helped and so quickly too! And relieved you've come off the pill, you might like to see what contraceptives can do to us. And if you have acne you might like to see this web page too. Take care, Wray
